Good Morning Everyone, a beautiful day here in Japan. But, I have to work today. (Sob sob) It just my luck, I guess. Hopefully tomorrow on my day off it will be sunny like today, well thats what the weather reporter said today. We can’t always believe them right, we’ll see.
Today’s Japanese Cooking Style is called Taro Tumbles or 里いものにっころがし in Japanese. This is a very simple dish to make and a great snack or side if you wish. Enjoy
Let’s get started with what we need to make our Taro Tumbles, shall we.
Ingredients:
☆ 400g Japanese Taro
☆ 1 cup dahsi stock
☆ 1 1/2 tbsp sake
☆ 1 1/2 tbsp mirin
☆ 3 tbsp sugar
☆ 1 1/2 soy sauce
Direction:
1. Wash the taros in cold water, and peel.
2.Place the stock, sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce and taro’s in a pot ,and simmer.
3.When the taros in the pot become tender, shake the pot while still simmering so that taros tumble around.
Arrange the taros in a bowl.
