Rice Cake Soup(お雑煮)

Good Afternoon Everyone, I want to wish everyone a 2010 Happy New Year. May all your dream come true in 2010. I like to thank all my friends and New friends I have made in 2009, and hope to keep our friendship going. Also like to thank the people who came by and visited my Japanese Cooking and grabbed their copy of my free eBook, share the recipes with other and leaving comments. It going to be a great 2010 for Cooking Japanese Style, as we have some great ideas for the site.
Todays Japanese Cooking Recipe is called Rice Cake Soup or お雑煮 in Japanese. This is great for the cold winter night and very easy to make. I hope you enjoy this recipe.
Let see what we need to make our Rice Cake Soup.
Ingredients:
☆ 80g chicken
☆ 4 slice of naruto
☆ 2 whole komatsuna
☆ 3-4㎝ carrot
☆ 2 cups dashi stock
☆ 1 tbsp soy sauce
☆ 1 tbsp sake
☆ pinch salt
☆ 4 square cut rice cake
☆ stalks trefoil
Direction:
1. Cut the chicken thighs diagonally into bite size pieces, boil the komatsuna in salted water,and squeeze to remove moisture and cut into 3-4㎝ lengths, slice the carrot thinly and cut out into flower shaps
2 Heat the stock, and simmer the chicken and carrot, when the chicken is heated through, add the sake, soy sauce, and salt.
3. Toast the rice cake on a grid and expose to boiling water quickly before placing in individual bowls, add the naruto, komatsuna, chicken, and carrot as well as the stock,to the bowls, garnish with has been cut into 3㎝ lengths the trefoil stalks.
This Recipes Serves 2 ~ 3 people. There you have it.
