• Ingredients:
  • ☆ 1 bunch komatsuna
  • ☆ 1 thinly deep-fried tofu
  • ☆ 4㎝ kamaboko fish cake
  • ☆ 8 mochi rice cake
  • ☆ 4 cups dashi stock
  • ☆ 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • ☆ 4 tbsp mirin
  • ☆ 5-6 tbsp sesame paste
  • ☆ half grind sesame
  • ☆ yuzu zest

☆Sesame soup with Komatsuna(小松菜のごまスープ) ☆

Good Afternoon Everyone, Hope your having a great weekend.  We are doing great and having a relaxing weekend, watch some of the Olympic Highlights on TV.  Working on some new project for the site, which the hubby will post later for me. So stay tune.

Todays Cooking Japanese Style is called Sesame Soup with Komatsuna or 小松菜のごまスープ in Japanese.  This is a very delicious tasting soup and very easy to make.  This can be made as a side dish or even a main dish for dinner if you prefer.  I usually make this as a side dish for my family as goes great with any fish or meat main.  Enjoy

Lets see what we need to make our Sesame Soup with Komatsuna.

Diection:

1. Boil the komatsuna in salted hot water, and drain and cut into 3㎝ lengths pieces, and squeeze to remove the excess water.

2. boil the deep fried tofu in hot water briefly, drain and cut into 8 pieces, and slice the fish cake into 4 pieces

3. Bake the rice cake until surface should be crispy and inside soft.

4. Pour the dashi stock into a pot, and bring to the boil, add the soy sauce, mirin, and deep fried tofu and simmer over medium heat for 1 min, and  add the sesame paste.

5. Place the rice cake, komatsuna, and fish cake in a serving bowl, and pour the hot soup, garnish with half grind sesame and yuzu zest.
