☆Keema Curry and Nan(キーマカレー&ナン) ☆
Good Morning Everyone, looks like a beautiful weekend so far for us here. We will be doing our weekly shopping today as well as getting ready for our next cooking video. The video will be “How to Deep Fry Fish” we will have this up in this coming week.
Today on Cooking Japanese Style we have a recipe called Keema Curry and Nan or キーマカレー&ナン in Japanese. This was submitted from a school friend of mines a while back, very simple recipe to make and something I think the family will love. Also we have recipe to make the Nan too, usually the kids help me make this. So if you are planning to try this recipe out, try having the whole family involved in helping you make this dish. I would think, sometime during the weekend or when the whole family has a holiday. Enjoy
Direction:
1. First we need to heat the oil into a pan, add the garlic and ginger, and fry. Next add the onion, carrot, and seasoning with salt and pepper briefly. Then add the ground meat and continue fry. Then add the salt and pepper again.
2. Next we will add the curry powder, yogurt, tomato juice, water, salt and pepper, and simmer for about 30 min over a low heat.
3. Seasoning with salt, almost liquid is gone, add the tofu and starch dissolved in the water.
This Serves 4 people with this recipe. Now that we are done with the curry, lets see what we need to do for making our Nan.
☆Nan(ナン)
Ingredients:
☆ 250cc warm water
☆ 60g plain yogurt
☆ 6occ vegetable oil
☆ 1 tbsp honey
☆ 500g bread flour
☆ 1 tbsp dried yeast
☆ 1 tsp salt
Direction:
1. First we need to place the warm water, yogurt, vegetable oil, honey, 250g bread flour and dried yeast into a large bowl, mix until smooth.
2. Then add the 250g bread flour, salt, and knead for about 10 min. Make sure to cover with plastic film and wet towel and let it stand for 1 hour in a warm place.
3. Now when the hour is up we need to roll the dough into 14 balls cover with wet towel and wait for 15 min. Next we will flatten each ball so that it is about 20㎝ lengths oval.
4. Now heat the thick frying pan or hot plate and smear with water on one side of dough and toast both side.
Nan Serves 4 ~ 5 people. There you have it. Hope you enjoy this, until next time let’s cook together. 次回は一緒に作りましょう~^^/~~ PS: If you enjoy my Daily recipe subscribe to my RSS Feed and I also have available my first e-Book, which is FREE to you for coming by and reading my Cooking Japanese Style.
