☆Cream Simmer with Bamboo and Long Green Onion(たけのこと長ネギのクリーム煮)☆
Good Afternoon Everyone, I hope that you are enjoying your week so far. Here we have been a little busy, the pass two days we had to help out in Takatsuki for the 12th annual “Takatsuki Jazz Street”. Since my hubby use to work as a bartender with the JK’s Family usually every year he has to help out. My hubby will write on this on one of our other blogs this week.
Well, back to the cooking. Today on Cooking Japanese Style we have a recipe called Cream Simmer with Bamboo and Long Green Onions or たけのこと長ネギのクリーム煮 in Japanese. I make this once in awhile when we can get bamboo on sale, recent it has been bamboo season. Near where my hubby works in Kyoto, the small farmers usually sell their bamboo along the side of the road. Where you put money in a can and take your share, they usually use the honor system there. (No one watches, but I haven’t heard any one stealing.)
This is a very delicious recipe and very easy to make. I hope that you enjoy making this recipe.
Lets see what we need to make our Cream Simmer with Bamboo and Long Green Onions dish.
Direction:
1. First we need to cut the bamboo into 5-6㎝ lengths thin strips. Next cut the long green onion into 5-6 ㎝ lengths thin strips. Then cut the ham and ginger into thin strips.
2. Now combine the starch, water and mix.
3. Place the soup stock, milk, fresh cream into a pan, and heat it.
4. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan, fry the bamboo, long green onion, ginger, and ham. Add the soup (warmed soup, milk, and fresh cream). When it comes to the boil, add the starch dissolved in the water to thicken it.
This recipe Serves 4 people. There you have it. Hope you enjoy this, until next time let’s cook together. 次回は一緒に作りましょう~^^/~~ PS: If you enjoy my Daily recipe subscribe to my RSS Feed and I also have available my first e-Book, which is FREE to you for coming by and reading my Cooking Japanese Style. I don’t eat long green onions, but they look good here, and it makes me think that this is a pasta
I’m pretty sure it smells good! Thank you for sharing this, I would love to make this one for my mom on mother’s day
And I’ll try to trick her and tell her this is pasta.
